Members of the 2009/2010 H-F High School Girls Golf Team presented a plaque to representatives from Coyote Run Golf Course on Tuesday, March 16. The plaque recognizes the course as the 2009 IHSA Class AA State Champion team’s home course. Shown here are (left to right): Sue Bertram, H-F Park District Commissioner; Ryann Gilley, H-F High School junior; Lauren Dawson, H-F High School sophomore; Rick Pavinato, H-F High School Girls Golf coach; Michelle Mayer, H-F High School junior; and Brian Smith, manager of Coyote Run Golf Course. In the state championship this past fall, Gilley scored a 77 and 78, Dawson scored a 79 twice and Mayer scored a 74 and 75. Combined the H-F team beat the second-place team by 41 points.    
 

The H-F Park District places a strong emphasis on staff involvement in national, state and local organizations. Staff and board members hold memberships in NRPA, Illinois Park & Recreation Association, Illinois Association of Park Districts and professional organizations (Ice Skating Institute, Midwest Institute of Park Executives, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and South Suburban Park & Recreation Professional Association). Special attention can be brought to the district’s board-level involvement in IPRA (superintendent of recreation is past president) and the Park District Risk Management Agency. Staff members have held positions of honor on the Board of Regents Western Revenue School (1997-1999), Great Lakes Regional Council board member (2003-05), Secretary to the Council of Affiliate Presidents (2000-01), Illinois Professional Development School, and Illinois State Special Olympics committees.
