NEED VOLUNTEER HOURS? WANT TO HELP OUT?

The H-F Park District has year-round volunteer opportunities for ages 13 and up including:

SENIOR LUNCH
Help plate and serve lunch to our FAB seniors on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Irwin Community Center. Call LeeAnn Fisk at 708-957-PARK.

FAMILY FUN FEST
Help set up or clean up for this annual July 4th event at Izaak Walton Woods, or volunteer to run one of the many games or activities. Contact Keith Jones at 708-957-0300.

STARRY NIGHTS CONCERT
Help out summer nights at our annual concert series taking tickets, handing out brochures or entertaining the crowd. Contact Pam Melnyk at 708-957-0300.

PARK PRIDE DAY
Help beautify and ready your neighborhood park for summer on the first Saturday of May. Contact Pam Melnyk at 708-957-0300.

5K RACES
Help with registration, sponsorships or guiding runners around the race track at our seasonal 5K races: Apollo 5K in May, Run for Freedom in July, Flossmoor 5K in September and the ButterBall Burner in November. Contact Josh May at 708-799-1323.

HAUNTED HOUNDS
Help with canine games and contests at this free annual October event at Rover's Run Dog Park. If you are under 16, you must pair up with an adult to volunteer. Contact Shannon Olison at 708-957-0300.

GREAT DOG EGG HUNT
Help stuff and scatter eggs, take photos with dogs at this annual spring event at Irwin Park. If you are under 16, you must pair up with an adult to volunteer. Contact Shannon Olison at 708-957-0300.

YOUTH TENNIS PROGRAMS
Help younger kids learn to play tennis and enjoy a new sport at the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club and in the summer at area parks. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and hold a driver's license. Contact Sylvia Gothard at 708-799-1323.

TENNISFEST
Help organize, set up and facilitate this annual tennis event, held for two weeks in July at the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club and outdoor tennis courts. Contact Sylvia Gothard at 708-799-1323.

 Before and After School Care Recreation Leader
The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District seeks motivated, creative, and experienced staff for its before and after school care program AM Club and Extra Innings. Staff are responsible for leading a group of 20 – 40 school-aged children through daily after-school activities.  Other responsibilities include communicating with parents during drop-off and pick-up and supporting the Site Director with new activity/planning ideas. 1+ years experience working with children strongly suggested. Enrollment in a college degree program in education, recreation or related field is highly desirable.  

Times:
M-F, 6:45-8:30 a.m. and/or 3-6 p.m.

Senior Assistant
The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District has an opening for a part-time Recreation Leader - Active Senior Assistant. This job offers approximately 6 hours per week during the day and some evening throughout the year to assist with activities prepared by the Senior Coordinator. PR / Marketing Summer Assistant
The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District  is seeking an individual to help with our summer marketing. Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to work in fast paced environment. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software, photography and social media a plus. Hours: 12-15 hours per week, June-Aug.

Building Attendant

Enrichment Instructor
The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District is looking for staff to offer a variety of enrichment programs for ages 2 (with parents) to 5 years of age. This person should have knowledge in the development stages of these ages and have prepared similar classes in the past. We are looking to begin offering classes this fall September – November.

H-F Racquet & Fitness Club

 

 

H-F Racquet & Fitness Club Manager

The Racquet & Fitness Club Manager is responsible for the planning, organization and supervision of the indoor Racquet and Fitness facility and related programs.  The Manager will contribute to the master plan, comprehensive plan, and capital repair and replacement schedule. The Manager will represent the Executive Director when required. The Manager will supervise a staff of full and part time employees.  The Manager will be an integral member of the district’s administrative team.

H-F ICE ARENA

 

 

ZAMBONI DRIVER
Under the supervision of the Ice Arena Manager and Maintenance Supervisor this position is responsible for performing general cleaning throughout the facility and maintaining acceptable ice conditions. This individual will be trained completely on the operation and maintenance of the Zamboni. HOCKEY INSTRUCTOR WANTED
Instructor is needed to teach hockey development classes at H-F Ice Arena. Saturday mornings and early afternoons.  Instructor must work well with children and be comfortable talking with parents. Instructor must be self driven, creative and able to work with other instructors if needed.  Pay $10-$15/class

Requirements:  At least level 1 CEP (or ability to acquire level 1), player experience and ability to skate well.  Must own skates, helmet and gloves. 18 years or older

IRONS OAKS environmental learning center


PART-TIME NATURALIST

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District seeks part-time Naturalists at Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center. Join our team in reaching school, scout, and community groups to help bring the natural world closer to program participants. Naturalists will conduct environmental education programs and birthday parties at Irons Oaks as well as provide outreach programs. Programs are scheduled 7 days a week and vary from 2 to 4 hours in length and occasionally longer. Applicants should have a minimum of two years coursework in education, biology, environmental education, or a related field and an interest in the environment and teaching. Experience working with children and the ability to work as part of a team are required. Knowledge of local flora, fauna, and ecological principles desired, but not necessary.  Ability to work weekends and evenings a plus.  Position open until filled. 

Hours: Varies from 0-20/week

Salary: $10/hour

Coyote Run Golf Course Manager/Head Pro
Applicant should have a minimum of five years as a Head Golf Professional or General Manager and shall be a PGA Class-A Professional or PGA Apprentice in good standing. Candidates with a four-year college degree are preferred. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the golf course and associated clubhouse activities. Responsible for budgeting and monitoring financial status throughout the year. Supervise staff of rangers, starters, customer service representatives.

Outing Coordinator
Coyote Run Golf Course is looking for an Outing Coordinator responsible for managing and facilitating outings for groups of 16 to 144.  Coordinator for customer outreach to secure new outings as well as maintain established outings.  Works with outing customers to ensure groups receive personalize service and outing success.  Responsible for relaying necessary information between golf course staff, restaurant and customers in order to meet customer needs. Coordinator must fill in and work Pro Shop as needed to book tee times and perform customer service duties. Applicant must be able to multi-task and simultaneously work on various projects.  Coordinator must be flexible to perform various duties as needed.
