Rover's Run Dog Park

Rover’s Run Dog Park:
Come out to Rover's Run  "the South Suburbs' premier dog park" and enjoy a day of fun with your dog and other dogs from the Homewood and Flossmoor communities.

This three-acre fenced park offers:
  • A walking path around the entire park
     
  • Three park benches and two covered structures
     
  • A drinking fountain for humans and canines
     
  • A convenient, double-gated entry

  • A separate training area with its own entrance
     
  • And much more!

This park is open to both residents and non-residents. Rover's Run is located at 191st Street and Center Avenue, Homewood.


Requirements:
Rover's Run is a Cook County-regulated Dog Park. Dog owners must comply with the following County regulations in order to become members:

  • Dogs must be healthy, licensed and wearing tags. Cook County requires that the following tests and immunizations be administered: Bordetella, Distemper, Hepatitis, Para-Influenza, Parvovirus, a communicable disease examination and stool sample
     
  • Owners must provide documentation signed by their veterinarian that verifies all tests and immunizations have been completed.
     
  • Dogs must be wearing Rover's Run tag at all times. The County and Park District conducts random tag checks at the park.
     
  • Female dogs in heat are not permitted in the park.
     

Annual Membership Fee:
$15 resident/$25 non-resident

Hours:
Daily, dawn to dusk

Volunteer:
The H-F Park District is looking for volunteer greeters to help preserve the community-feel of Rover's Run Dog Park and to ensure that unregistered dogs are not entering the facility.  If you would like to learn more about becoming a volunteer greeter, please call the Recreation Department at 708-957-0300.
