What’s New at Lions Club Pool?
Every year the park district thoroughly inspects the pool facility and water slide, making any necessary repairs and improvements. In addition to this annual maintenance and to best accommodate our swimmers this year, the park district has:
• Expanded open swim hours. Hours will be Mondays-Thurdays 12:30-10 p.m.; Fridays 12:30-8:15 p.m.; and Saturdays & Sundays 12:30-8:15 p.m. Monday-Friday hours include a two-hour Family Swim Session for parents and children only form 5-7 p.m.
• Marked five lap lanes in the main pool to accommodate lap swimmers. Lap swim hours will be offered at 7-8:15 a.m. & 5-6:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays beginning June 7.
• Created two Sand Play Areas: one for preschoolers, featuring two sand diggers and a spring “ride-on” toy; and another for older children, featuring a new play structure. The play structure purchase and installation has been made possible by a generous donation from the H-F Lions Club. Look for the new playground equipment in late June.
• Purchased a new ADA-accessible pool lift with funding from the H-F Lions Club.
• Transformed the underutilized sand volleyball court into a landscaped area for sunbathers and picnic fans.
• Installed an additional umbrella on the Adult Pool Deck, providing extra shade for our adult patrons.
• Brought in more deck chairs for extra seating.
• Added lockers near both locker rooms for more daily storage of patrons’ belongings.
• Placed more picnic tables in the concession area, providing more seating on the concession patio.
• Installed three upgraded safety gates along the perimeter of the Tot Pool
• Repainted the locker rooms, plus installed new mirrors, more energy-efficient lighting and sanitary, easy-to-clean floor mats.
• Spruced up the benches, landscaping, signage and fencing around the pool property.

2010 POOL PASSES NOW ON SALE!
Homewood-Flossmoor Park District 2010 Lions Club Pool passes are on sale now! Prices are:
• Family, $170 for H-F residents and $340 for non-residents
• Adult, $100 for H-F residents and $200 for non-residents
• Child, $90 for H-F residents and $180 for non-residents
• Senior, $50* for H-F residents and $200 for non-residents
*Price shown includes resident senior discount!
The pool season at Lions Club Pool will run Sunday, May 30, through Monday, Sept. 6. Along with extended daily open-swim hours, the park district will offer a wide variety of swim lessons for infants through adults. Lessons are available for all ability levels.
Passes may be purchased at the Irwin Community Center (18120 S. Highland Ave., Homewood) or the Goldberg Center (3301 Flossmoor Road, Flossmoor). Lions Club Pool — located at 1041 Ridge Road in Homewood — features a water slide, main pool, children’s pool, concession stand and sandy play area. For more information, please call 708-957-PARK.

Alternatives to Pool Passes
1. RESIDENT DISCOUNT CARDS
Residents may purchase daily admission to the pool.
To receive the discount rate, a Resident Discount Photo ID card must be purchased with proof of residency. Cards are $7 each. This card must be shown at the cashier’s booth to receive discount. Replacement cards are $8.

Daily Admission: $12 (without card)
2. DISCOUNT GUEST PASS BOOKS
Season family pass holders receive four discount guest passes; season adult and child pass holders receive two discount passes. Additional passes may be purchased in books of 10 for $10. Guests may use passes to receive the discounted daily rate. No refunds will be issued for unused passes. If residents have an out-of-town guest and are NOT a season pass holder, call 708-957-0300 for details on a special rate.
3. $4 NIGHTS FOR H-F RESIDENTS
Resident admission is discounted to $4 on Monday-Thursday nights from 7-10 p.m. Discount cards or guest passes are not necessary; proof of residency is required.
