GINKGOS: Age 3
Your child will learn to play with others and participate in group activities. Independence is encouraged through mastering self-help skills. Group times — consisting of calendar, weather, music and storytime — are longer as we strive to lengthen attention spans. Shapes, colors, numbers and letters are introduced. Fine-motor activities become part of the daily schedule. Activities take place indoors and outdoors, including walks to Irwin Park! Children must be age 3 by Sept. 1, 2010, and they must be potty trained.

OAKS: Ages 4 & 5
Social, intellectual, physical and emotional growth are promoted in group situations. Teachers will encourage social and listening habits, and help children express themselves through music, art and motor skills. Basic skills — such as scissor work, pencil control, name writing, alphabet, address and phone numbers — will prepare them for kindergarten. Your child will be involved in science, math, language and kindergarten readiness skills. Spanish, cooking, computers, trips and creative play will be part of the curriculum. Children must be 4 by Sept. 1, 2010, and they must be potty trained.

PRESCHOOL ENRICHMENT: Ages 3-5
Our enrichment program uses the Project Approach to introduce a wide range of learning opportunities into the classroom. It is structured, yet flexible, and centers around the varying learning needs and interests of children. The biweekly themes are decided by the class, then an in-depth study takes place. Throughout the study, children will engage in language, science, art and math activities. Children develop stronger social skills, as many of the activities are done in small groups. Children must be part of the morning 3- or 4-year-old program to participate.
