Park Pride Day

9 a.m. - Noon • Area Parks

Parks in Homewood and Flossmoor will receive some special care during the 22nd Annual Park Pride Day.  Hundreds of volunteers will gather at 25 area parks beginning at 9 a.m. to help plant flowers, weed, mulch trees or pick up debris in an annual effort to beautify their hometown parks.

The H-F Park District will provide tools, plantings, mulch, garbage bags and t-shirts for all volunteers. Volunteers are asked to bring their own work gloves. Designated park captains will help coordinate efforts that morning.  At noon, volunteers and captains are rewarded for their hard work at a free barbecue lunch at Irwin Park, located at Ridge Road and Highland Ave.
